Overview

CAP is an NIH funded, international, multi-institutional project, with over 3000 cardiac MRI studies and clinical data stored in the database. CAP is led by the University of Auckland, New Zealand and the University of California, Los Angeles. CAP researchers have developed software tools for the visualization and analysis of cardiac MRI data and for the generation of 4D mathematical models from these data.

Why should I contribute?

  • Your data will be categorized and archived into the CAP database, for the benefit of the educational and research communities.
  • A left ventricular functional analysis with a 4D mathematical model of the heart will be provided*. This can be viewed with the downloadable software.
  • All images will be acknowledged with the name of your institution allowing you to showcase your best images and interesting cases.
  • Statistical comparison with other patient groups in the database.
*CAP offers free analysis for research purposes only. This analysis is not approved for clinical use.

What about patient consent?

Local IRB or ethics approval, is required before uploading data. CAP can assist you with this process.
