Description
Our mission is to develop innovative methods that integrate medical imaging physics, engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve medical imaging-based healthcare by making it more accurate, efficient, and effective, and in the long term, more affordable and accessible to all Chileans.
We have access to a full-time (100%) 0.55T research MR scanner (FreeMax, Siemens Healthineers) and 2 part-time clinical research scanners (1.5T Achieva and 3T Ingenia, Philips Healthcare). We have access to the IDEA pulse programming environment for the FreeMax scanner and develop our own reconstruction and image analysis methods.
We work on 4 main research areas
1) Intelligent fully quantitative medical imaging
2) AI-enabled physics-informed and synergistic medical imaging
3) Explainable AI for medical imaging and non-imaging patient data integrated analysis, reporting and diagnosis
4) Population-based phenotyping for cardiovascular, liver disease and cancer
