2016 Seed Grant Award Recipient

The 2016 Seed Grant Award Winner is Zhengwei Zhou

(Zhengwei Zhou receiving certificate from SCMR Science Committee Chair, Daniel Lee in Los Angeles)

The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) introduces the inaugural SCMR Seed Grant Program. The goal of this new program is to foster the development and/or validation of new techniques aimed at increasing the clinical effectiveness of CMR.  One grant of up to $10,000 was awarded in 2016 to a selected applicant at the 19th Annual Scientific Sessions in Los Angeles, California.

The topic:

Novel CMR-characterized tissue biomarkers

CMR has the unique capability to characterize myocardial injury and to differentiate acuity as well as reversibility. CMR characterization of tissue biomarkers could enhance our understanding of disease and foster the development of new therapeutic strategies.

We hope to encourage young investigators to break new ground on this topic and share with the SCMR community.

Congratulations, Zhengwei! We look forward to working with you on this project.
