Gold Medal Award Nominations

The Gold Medal Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) and is given for distinguished and extraordinary contributions to the field of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and service to the Society (view previous recipients). This award will be presented by the President of the Society on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the membership at the 2017 SCMR Annual Scientific Sessions in Washington DC.

Nominations are to be submitted in writing by any current member of the SCMR*. Nominators should provide a detailed letter describing the nominee’s outstanding achievements, and the nomination should be accompanied by a current Curriculum Vitae of the nominee. At least two letters/emails of support from current SCMR members* must accompany the nomination materials, with the primary nominator responsible for the submission of letters of support.

An individual member of SCMR can act only once each year as either primary nominator or sponsor, i.e., an individual member cannot be primary nominator for one nominee and sponsor for another, or act in either capacity for more than one individual each year.

Letters of nomination and sponsorship should be sent to SCMR Headquarters (hq@scmr.org) by October 3, 2016 (Attention: SCMR Gold Medal Award Committee).

* Current elected officers and members of the Board of Trustees, and members of the SCMR Gold Medal Award Committee are ineligible for the Gold Medal nomination, and also may not nominate or provide letters of support for Gold Medal Award nominees.
