SCMR Seed Grant Recipients – 2019

This year the SCMR Science Committee received six submissions to the 2019 SCMR Seed Grant Award. The process in reviewing the applicants included detailed reviews by members of the SCMR Science Committee who then scored each application based on identified criteria. At the conclusion of the review process two applicants were selected as awardees. Each recipient will receive $5,000 and will be invited to present results during the 2021 Scientific Sessions and submit a progress report to SCMR. 

2019 Awardees:

  • Allan Bradley, Northwestern University – Evaluating Multi-Institution Variability in 4D flow MRI Hemodynamic Characterization of Type B Aortic Dissection with 3D Printed Models.
  • Nivedita K. Naresh, University of Colorado – MRI fOr Cardiotoxity in Kids (MOCK)

 Hear an update from the 2018 Seed Grant Awardees at SCMR’s upcoming 23rd Annual Scientific Sessions*

  • Jesse Hamilton, Case Western Reserve University will present their research update on Cardiac CINE Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (Basic) on Saturday, February 15 at 4:10-4:25 PM during the Closing Plenary Session in Royal.
  •  Upasana Tayal, Imperial College London will present their research update on Novel approaches to cardiovascular magnetic resonance data science in dilated cardiomyopathy (Clinical) at the 2021 Annual Scientific Sessions*.

The goal of the Seed Grant program is to foster development of multi-site efforts for increasing the clinical effectiveness of CMRThe program encourages early career investigators to identify pilot projects fostering multi-institutional collaborations leading to joint applications to established granting programs. The intention is to award up to two (2) $5,000 awardsInterested applicants should look out for information to submit to the 2021 Seed Grant Award in August 2020.
