SCMR Membership - Strength in Numbers

Like the strong magnetic fields used in MRI scanners, the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance “pulls” together physicians, scientists and technologists who work in the field of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR). Membership has grown to over 3,000 globally, proving there is strength in numbers and SCMR can further advance the field when the field pulls together.

By joining the SCMR community, individuals become a part of a network of CMR colleagues seeking the same education, goals and shared mission within CMR: To improve cardiovascular health by advancing the field of CMR through education, advocacy, networking, research and clinical excellence.

Hear What Other Members Are Saying About SCMR

“As an imaging scientist, I appreciate the opportunities provided by the SCMR to meet and interact with cardiologist and radiologists. These connections help me to better understand how my research can fit into clinical practice and develop new ideas to solve open challenges.  I especially enjoy attending the Annual Meeting, which is an excellent forum to present my work and learn about new cardiac MR methods and applications.”

Nicole Seiberlich, PhD

Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Case Western Reserve University

Cleveland, OH, USA

“As a cardiologist involved in CMR, I have found the SCMR meetings to be the premier venue for dissemination of advances in the field. I enjoy the fact that the meeting has a great balance for both research and clinical specialists. I most enjoy SCMR meeting app which makes it very easy to navigate the meeting.”

Dipan J. Shah, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Associate Professor, Weill Cornell Medical College

Acting Director, Cardiovascular Imaging Institute

Houston, TX, USA

“I value my membership in the SCMR because of the opportunities to stay abreast of the latest developments in CMR and the opportunities to network with colleagues performing CMR from all over the world. The annual meeting is a wonderful opportunity to review routine and new CMR techniques and learn about the impact of CMR on clinical care of patients with cardiovascular disease. As an academic radiologist whose research focus is CMR, having the costs of publishing in JCMR waived is invaluable.”

Christopher J. François, MD

Associate Professor; Section Chief, Cardiovascular Imaging Department of Radiology

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Madison, WI, USA

“SCMR has assisted me at every stage of my career thus far. SCMR.org was my main resource for applying to advanced imaging fellowships. Since then it has remained invaluable for both scientific knowledge and for practice management material as I have moved from academic medicine to private practice cardiology. But I most value SCMR for the community at the Annual Meetings, where I can learn, share, revitalize my curiosity, and reconnect with friends.”

Joel Robert Wilson, MD

Director, Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging

Overlake Medical Center
