Definitions

Section

Purpose

  • Formed to be a platform for networking among members with a shared CMR-related professional interest or specialty (Women in CMR, Congenital/Pediatric). Sections are long-standing groups and are not devoted to a single specific task.

Benefits

  • Access to one meeting room during the annual scientific sessions (one-hour).
  • One dedicated webpage on the website.
  • Ability to contribute content to newsletter and/or social media outlets.
  • Utilize SCMR forum for communication.
  • Ability to conduct election.

 

Special Interest Group

Purpose

  • Formed to be a platform for networking among members with an interest in a specific CMR imaging technology or clinical application (Mapping, Diffusion).

Benefits

  • Access to one meeting room during the annual scientific sessions (one-hour).
  • One dedicated webpage on the website.
  • Ability to contribute content to newsletter and/or social media outlets.
  • Utilize SCMR forum for communication.
  • Ability to conduct election.

 

Regional Working Group

Purpose

  • Multidisciplinary/cross-functional group brought together around a shared geographical region.
  • To increase and sustain membership in the respective region to at least twenty (20) SCMR members.
  • To address regional CMR advocacy issues.
  • To support international SCMR research efforts.
  • To create and perform regional training and educational activities that complement offerings by the SCMR. This may include in-person workshops and meetings, as well as web-based training in the native language of the region.
  • To support the efforts of the SCMR Translation Committee in its efforts to translate CMR statement and guideline papers.

 

Affiliate Group

An SCMR Affiliate is an independent entity that enters into a relationship with SCMR in order to enjoy mutual benefits of collaboration and cross marketing. The nature of the relationship varies according to the mutual needs of the Affiliate and SCMR. Approved by the Board or Executive Committee; reconfirmed annually or dissolved.

Do you have a proposal for a new group?

Groups are created by petition to the President and Chief Executive Officer and approved by the Board or Executive Committee. Groups will be reconfirmed or dissolved by the Board when applicable. Email SCMR Headquarters (hq@scmr.org) to request an application to submit along with 20 current members who are interested in participating.
