SCMR is the leading global community of all professional working in the field of CMR and aims to represents the interests of its members all over the world. In this context, the SCMR Advocacy Committee is tasked with identifying the challenges affecting CMR professionals and patients globally, and to recommend impactful strategies and actions to address them. The complementary SCMR International Outreach Committee has the objective to foster global connections and collaborations, expanding the organization’s reach and impact of CMR on an international scale, in collaboration with Education and Advocacy committees. Regional SCMR working groups further support the global reach of the society.
Recent and current activities of these committees include:
- Support for the CMR community in Australia with their application for a Medicare Benefits Schedule code for using CMR in the diagnosis of myocarditis (ongoing).
- White paper on global advocacy (ongoing)
- Setting up a network of regional SCMR ambassadors in each region of the world
- Supporting CMR educational activities around the globe
