SCMR 2025 Annual Scientific Sessions

SCMR 2025 Annual Meeting Washington DC
days before the event

Welcome Message from the Chair

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is with great pleasure and honor that we invite you to join us at the 28th Annual Scientific Sessions of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, to be held at the historic and beautiful Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC, from January 29 to February 1, 2025.

This year’s theme, “Leading the Way to Accessible, Sustainable, and Efficient CMR,” offers a unique opportunity to explore and discuss future directions and our role as a community in advancing the accessibility, sustainability, and efficiency of cardiovascular MRI.

Our Program Committee, led by Claudia Prieto and Bradley Allen as Program Co-chairs and Clerio Azevedo as Abstract Chair, has put together an amazing and inspiring program spanning the entire spectrum from basic science to clinical application. This year the programme will include a larger selection of oral abstract presentations and interactive hands-on sessions than in previous years. Aditionally, we are introducing dedicated focus sessions on the areas of accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability in CMR, providing insights into current challenges and future directions. We are also particularly excited to introduce the new CMR Innovations Track. This track will feature engaging formats such as Shark Tank, CMR Science Slam and Unmet Clinical Needs, alongside engaging participation of Industry to discuss  about the latest technological advances and trends in our field.

The programme will kick-off with three fantastic pre-conferences (Physicians, Pediatric & Congenital, iCMR) and the SCMR-ISMRM co-provided workshop on “Cutting Edge Imaging of Cardiac Microstructure, Motion, and Strain.”  The main program will feature six parallel tracks so that there always will be something of interest for every delegate, including the Pediatric & Congenital and Technologist tracks as well as dedicated Early Career sessions. Additionally, there will be moderated rapid-fire abstracts and quick-fire cases in a dedicated session room, allowing for extended discussions. The educational program will be complemented by the exhibit hall, expert case reading sessions, hands-on interactive workshops, and keynote lectures. A variety of social events, including mentoring sessions, receptions, and a fun run, will offer ample opportunities for networking with colleagues and peers.

The annual SCMR Scientific Sessions serve not only as a platform for education but also to bring together all professions involved in the field of CMR, from technologists to scientists, from clinicians to industry partners, from novices to the most seasoned experts in the field, as a vibrant community. It offers unparalleled opportunities to network with peers and experts, discuss emerging trends and latest developments, and share experiences with colleagues from around the globe.

We encourage all participants to engage fully in the program, which promises to be both comprehensive and compelling. This event is an ideal opportunity to advance your expertise, contribute to discussions on key topics, and apply new knowledge in your research and professional settings. For anyone unable to join the meeting in person, a virtual platform will offer a combination of live streamed and recorded sessions.

We look forward to welcoming you to Washington DC for what promises to be a memorable and impactful conference, as we work together to advance the field towards more accessible, sustainable, and efficient cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
